We're going to NASHVILLE!!!!!

Holla!

We just got the call back from Christopher Pizza in Nashville, TN that we are "good to go" to be playing there March 27th along with David Ramirez. Nick and Kris will trek out to the Music Capitol of the World and hopefully make some new friends and pick up some new fans. Please come out if you live that way or if you've got friends and family there tell them to come see us! Cover is just $5!

Also, our exclusive online distributor Speakerheart.com XYhas invited us to play an office concert the following day and David may join us there also...we'll see what happens with that!

We've decided to make it into a mini-tour and will swing through Tulsa for an unofficial ORU dorm concert! Josh, our guitarist, will be joining us there and this will definitely be a rockin' stop on the living room tour!

Details still to be anounced on a potential stop in Arlington for Sunday a.m. and p.m. as well as a three day stop in Austin! Pray for favor for us and for safe travels. Also, if you would, please keep our wives lifted as they will be holding down our respective forts...none of this would be possible without them!

Please, please, please tell your friends and hit us back...we'd love to hear your thoughts!

Peace,
auGust

Playing Rosenberg SBUX tomorrow night!

Hey we (or maybe just me) will be playing at the Starbucks in Rosenberg(though it's called the Richmond store) tomorrow night from 7-10pm.

To get there take 59 South past the "Hwy 99/Crabb River Road" exit. Take the Reading Rd exit and turn right into the shopping center with the Chili's restaurant. The SBUX is right near Chili's. Please come out and meet us, hear our stuff, and maybe pick up a CD! Plus it's a SBUX and it doesn't get much cooler than that!

Hope to see you there!

Peace,
Kris & auGust

What a great night...

So Nick and I played in front of about 100 people tonight and it was awesome!! They sang and clapped and lifted thier hands and ...well they worshipped with us! It was truly moving. So much so that when we did "Unfamiliar" I was moved to tears at how awesome God is and how little we deserve the love that he so graciously gives us...a great night.

Also got a couple more gigs lined up...maybe. We'll see what happens but we do know for sure that we will be playing February 9th at the "BIG Love Walk-Run" in Angleton. More details to come. You can also check our myspace for more upcoming dates...

To top it all off, got a ton of feedback tonight and it was all overwhelmingly good. So thank you's go out to all who have listened and let us know what you think but especially to Randi, J-Do, Robbie, and Jesse. Your encouragement is so awesome and very much appreciated. Blessings and good night to all!

OK so it's 2:20 in the morning...

and I just lost $8 playing Hold 'em with the Knights of the Nights of the Round Table. Not too bad for me...sadly. So I am sitting here wondering how best to work out the details of something new we are going to try - the auGust Living Room Tour 2008!

(dramatic pause - okay I guess that should have come before the anouncement -*sigh* - it's too late and I'm too tired to fix it)

anyway, I stole the idea from David Ramirez - a guy who writes great songs and apparently has great ideas like this one. So here's the deal: a living room tour is a tour where we find host homes (preferably homes of people who like our music) who want to invite friends, family, and strangers to come over for an intimate and mind-blowing concert in their living room. The options are that either the host home can pay a low set fee or (what most do) they charge a small cover at the door and part of it goes to the house for refreshments et al. CD's and merch are available for sale after the concert and everyone mingles for a while and realizes how much cooler we are in person!

But how do you get the word out? Who do you ask? Or do they come to you? Well, I guess this is one way to do it - so how's about it? Any takers -- looking for TX dates currently but if you're in a nearby state drop us a line and maybe we'll have a road trip!

peace,
auGust

The most beautiful things in the world...

Wow - that kind of sounds like a good book title. Anyway, while just browsing through blogger the other day I came across what is probably the most beautiful little bit of writing I have ever read - that being aside from God's awesome promises to me in the word of course. Here it is several days after I first read it and I am still in awe of the way the piece just absolutely immersed me in every way into experiencing exactly what the author was describing. And truly it blessed me. It's amazing how easily we take for granted some of the most beautiful things in the world like the everday occurence that this piece describes. But I suppose our forgetfulness/ingratitude/selfishness/preoccupation or whatever it is that keeps us from acknowledging majesty does serve a noble purpose in that when we do rediscover "common" graces their splendor is magnified that much more and we are freed from the bondage of self-importance. I am so thankful not only for the power of those written words but also for the talent of the young woman who possesses such skill in arranging words to create such a wonderfully complex description of such a simple wonder.

Read it for yourself here and let me know what you think. Also the rest of the blog is cool in its own right - she is apparently the production designer for a film that is being currently shot. Check it out.

prayers please...

I almost feel selfish asking this as there are so many of you with your own issues and decisions who could stand to have someone pray for you also, but truly I need your prayers today. A bit of news was passed to me about a possible path for my life/ministry. It would invlove a major step of faith for my wife and I but before I even get into anything about that, I just really need your prayers for us to hear God's voice clearly in this. I am sure I could rationalize either decision in a convincing enough way but I definitely want to be in the center of God's will on this. Truly I am in need of God's peace and his divine direction. As it stands, I am tremendously touched and humbled to have even been thought of for this opportunity but I don't want to jump into something just because it's there. This truly could be the way to my ultimate goal but it could also be a costly distraction from it. Please, please pray for me. Oh yeah, by the way, in case you hadn't already realized it, I'm a Christian. I know, I know -- those are fighting words in most parts of the world(or the supreme court--read "peanut gallery"-- for that matter) but it's who I am. Thanks in advance for your prayers.
